Swachchh Gaon - Swastha Parivar
Health is a major issue in Jhabua. Jhabua has the highest mortality rate in children under five in the world. Families often have to take a loan from informal sources for medical conditions. They get entrapped in a vicious debt cycle. ‘Swachchh Gaon - Swastha Parivar’ is an initiative under women leadership, the 'mother of the house' to take on various dimensions of health - ranging from medication to nutrition.
To cope with the nutritional deficiency, the villagers identified a set of 15 fruiting plants which they can grow in their in-house garden. The bundle consists of Mango, Neem, Jamun, Papaya, Lemon, Meetha Neem, Moringa, Tulasi, Jaam(Guava), Shehtoot(Mulberry), Seetaphal (Custard apple), Amla, Belpatra, Chiku and Giloy. The tribal families adopt the saplings and grow them like their children.
This program enters the fifth and consecutively since 2018; this year, 1500 families will adopt the set of saplings.
Your every contribution pave the way for a healthy and sustainable future for our Rural India!
